2025 Australian Age Champs

In 24-25 the GSAQU club swimmers competed across 32 swim meets hosted by clubs from the Wide Bay and Brisbane regions. These competitors achieved many personal best times, medals, Age Champion awards and regional records and accolades, with Mason Kopff being the Club’s standout performer. Mason was the Club’s sole national times qualifier. Mason competed in four Freestyle events (listed below), achieving great results for his first time splashing at the Australian Age Championships:

  • Day 3 – Sat 12th Event 43: 800m Freestyle – placing 13th overall for the 14YRS Boys.
  • Day 6, Tue 15th Event 108: 400m Freestyle – placing 6th overall for the 14YRS Boys achieving a 11.11second Personal Best time.
  • Day 8, Thu 17th Event 179: 1500m Freestyle – achieving a bronze medal placing 3rd overall for the 14YRS Boys, with a 28.68second Personal Best time.
  • Day 9, Fri 18th Event 180: 200m Freestyle – placing 28th overall for the 14YRS Boys achieving a 2.48second time improvement.
