Exciting things happening at swim club…

Hi All Parents and Swimmers

Well the season is flying past and with lots of exciting things happening in the last four swim clubs for the semester I thought it was time for an update.

Swimming Carnivals
Our swimmers who attended the Kawana Club Challenge need a big pat on the back for their great team spirit which we were awarded 4th place and a $50.00 cash payment for the club. Everyone had a great day with lots of pom pom throwing, PB Bell ringing and chants on the sidelines  I am sure the great swimming and team spirits will continue at the Gympie Meet on the 29th November. Goodluck to all swimmers.
Just on a note with carnival nominations, can you please ensure all fees are paid via EFT or in cash prior to the event. To avoid being harassed please ensure when you make EFT payment please make a reference – first 4 letters of surname and first 4 letter of locations, ie PREN KAWA – Prenzler Kawana. The club can’t afford for these fees not to be paid by each swimmer and they will be cross checked.

Canteen
We would love offer some more canteen menu options as we understand how busy it is on club nights to go home and have dinner afterwards. We would like to offer a crock pot and a home baked slice each week. If we have any great home bakers who would be willing to offer their services on certain weeks, please let us know! This is a great fundraiser for the club and your support is appreciated.

18th November
There will be a friendly swim meet with Eumundi Swim club on the 18th of November during the normal swim club time slot.
We have organised a raffle to raise money and will be sending home 10 tickets with each family to sell at $2.00 a ticket. We will need extra volunteers in the canteen for this night so please let one of the committee members know if you are available tomorrow night or email me.
1st Prize: Hamper – Donated by Delicious Gourmet Hampers
2nd Prize: Swim Pack
3rd Prize: $30 Sportspower voucher

25th November
This is Club Champs night which all swimmers must swim in to be eligible for Age Champion. You must also have completed your nomination forms and paid your fees to be eligible. There are two held throughout the season so please ensure you attend this!

2nd December
Our final night before Christmas break. We will encourage parents to participate in some races, so bring your bathers and expect to get wet!! This was a great success last year being one of the children’s’ favourite nights.

Noosa Meet – Saturday 31st Jan
Please keep this date free in you diary as we would love the whole club to attend. As this is over the school holiday break we will need everyone to watch out for the flyer and nomination dates at widebayswimming.org.au We would love to show everyone how strong we have become.

Swimathon
We would like to have a Swimathon in 2015. If you would like to donate prizes for this event the club would be very appreciative. Please let us know if you are able to assist in any way.

Facebook
Don’t forget to like us on facebook so you can keep up to date, especially if club nights are to be cancelled due to storms etc.

Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to all of the parents who have been a great help so far. We are a fast moving club and need your continuing support to keep getting stronger. Our committee goal was to get a 100 members and here we are at week 5 and we have already doubled our numbers from last year. Have you got another mate who wants to join – it’s not too late to bring them along!!
